Neuropsychological Evaluations

When You Have Questions
At Jax Neuropsych, we offer neuropsychological evaluations to assess cognitive function, such as memory, attention, and other key areas of brain health. Our expert evaluations provide valuable insights for individuals experiencing issues due to injury, illness, or other conditions. We work closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans and collaborate with other healthcare providers to support recovery and well-being.
Comprehensive and Focused Evaluations
We offer both brief, focused neuropsychological evaluations and comprehensive assessments to meet a range of needs. A brief evaluation is ideal when there's a specific question to answer—such as clarifying a diagnosis or guiding treatment—without the need for in-depth testing. Comprehensive evaluations provide a full picture of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning, often used for complex cases or long-term planning. We’ll help determine which type of evaluation best fits your goals and situation.
What is a focused evaluation?
Focused, or targeted, neuropsychological evaluations are designed to address specific concerns or questions. By focusing on specific areas such as memory, attention, or executive functions, we can provide targeted insights and recommendations tailored to your needs. The focused evaluation offers efficient and targeted assessments to support your goals and decision-making process. These evaluations include but are not limited to Learning Disability (LD), SAT/College accommodations, ADHD, and Gifted Assessment.
What to expect:
The duration of a focused evaluation is generally between 3-6 hours and includes a clinical interview, administration of neuropsychological tests, and a feedback session. A roadmap of recommendations will be provided during the feedback session.
What is a comprehensive evaluation?
Using a thorough approach, a comprehensive evaluation will assess various areas such as language, attention, memory, executive functions, and emotional well-being. We utilizes a range of tests, clinical interviews, and observations to gain a comprehensive understanding of each individual's unique cognitive profile. These evaluations are instrumental in diagnosing and treating neurological or developmental disorders, acquired brain injuries, and other conditions impacting cognitive functioning. With our comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations, we aim to empower individuals with a clear understanding of their strengths, challenges, and personalized strategies for optimizing cognitive health.
What to expect:
A comprehensive evaluation includes an in-depth interview to better understand your history and current concerns (1 hour), administration of neuropsychological tasks (4-6 hours), and a feedback session (1-2 hours), scheduled on a different date.
At the feedback session, Dr. Lahey will provide you with practical recommendations and an intervention roadmap tailored to your goals.
